New video and single – NO LOGO!

Check out the brand new video for our latest single No Logo, filmed by the brilliant Ash TV and starring our good mate Jim Cattell (from Boddickers, check them out) as a sinister salesman trying to product place all over our music video, we tell him where to shove it, obviously.

The single is OUT NOW and also has a previously unreleased b-side called ‘An Unbearable Lightness’ which we recorded during the Seculo Seculorum sessions using just acoustic guitar and vocals. It couldn’t be more different from the A-side, check it out!

Tickets are only a fiver (buy them here) and ALL ages are welcome, but if you’re over 18 your ticket price includes entry to the rock clubnight afterwards too.  We’re putting this show on in collaboration with our friend, Satan’s doorman Pete Greg who is doing all sorts of things to raise money for his chosen charity www.caft.co.uk – check them out and see you at the gig!

Second album details announced!

Having successfully smashed our pledge target we can now announce that our second album is to be called ‘Seculo Seculorum’ which means ‘Forever and Ever’, we like the grandness of it, the melancholy connotations also, the idea that music is forever, and that we will love music forever and ever…

The cover art was painted by the wonderful CARP in the now long tradition of OC/CARP collaborations, the poor tormented soul depicted here sums up a lot of the ideas and emotions in our music most poetically, we reckon everyone can relate to how he must be feeling, the poor bugger!

This will be the artwork which we are selling 50 prints of too, if you would like to buy one, they are limited edition, signed by band and artist, and only available on the Pledge site

The official release date for the album is Monday 24th June. If you have pledged you will get your download much sooner, and hopefully your CD, vinyl or whatever else you have pledged for too, we’re working frantically to get it all ready for you as soon as possible!

If you are yet to pledge the final date for pledging is APRIL 7TH! At time of writing that gives you 22 days to get your pledge in.

Thanks for supporting us, more news coming soon!

Album #2 Producer

james loughreyWe are pleased to announce that the new album will be produced by James Loughrey. James contacted the band almost a year ago having been impressed by the songs he heard from the debut album, keen to work with us on a future project, after lots of talking about ideas and influences we realised we have a huge amount in common and we are really excited and confident about making this the best album we can make, with James at the helm.

James has had an incredible career so far, working on music from the likes of White Zombie, Bjork, My Vitriol, Sonic Boom Six… and most recently he produced Skindred’s ‘Union Black’.

With our campaign having recently hit 90% we are now planning to book the studio for early 2013!

Pledge for a new OC album

Badge

All has been a bit quiet for us online lately because we have been hidden away in the rehearsal room working on lots of brand new material for our second album which we plan to record in early 2013.

It’s a really exciting time for us because we are hoping to FAN-FUND this album using a website called Pledge Music [www.pledgemusic.com], which means rallying you lot together to help out, all we are asking people to do is a sort of long-term pre-order, so you pay now for a download, CD or vinyl copy of the album, we use the money to record and press it, and you get it delivered to your door at least a month before it goes on general release. We are making it even more worth your while by having a pledge-only CD version which will have extra bonus tracks and other embellishments, and we are also offering some other very cool limited-edition stuff which you can pledge for if you wish, some things are limited to less than 15 in total so you need to be quick if you want the good stuff!

We are also supporting a really great mental health charity called CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) by donating 10% of what we make after we reach our target to them (our target is what we need to pay for recording and pressing, anything after that helps fund videos, T-shirts etc being made and other less exciting expenses) so we hope we raise more than our target so we can give them as much as possible too, check out the great work they do here [www.thecalmzone.net].

Our campaign launches on MONDAY 8TH OCTOBER and runs for three months, so you have plenty of time to pledge. We think this is a really great and empowering way to keep doing what we do without the need to get involved with big labels or corporate sponsorship, something we’ve NEVER done so far, we feel this is a perfect next step for us but it means putting all of our trust in you the fans to come good, stick your hand in your pocket and, for the price of a download, show your support, we reckon we have the best fans in the world, so we’re feeling hopeful!

Massive thanks in advance to you if you choose to get involved! It’s truly Man Vs Machine!!!
Kelii, Giz, Pete and Dani
